You became a legal owner of real estate and decided to move for permanent residence to Turkey. In this case, a residence permit (ikamet) is required.
A residence permit can be issued for a period of 6 months to 2 years. Ikamet gives the owners or tenants of real estate the right to enter and leave the country unlimitedly.
Those wishing to stay in Turkey beyond the period of visa-free stay or permanently residing owners / tenants must submit an application in electronic form on the website: https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/
. On the main web page there are two types of applications (“ikamet”): the initial application for those who apply for the first time, and the extension of valid visa.
• The following documents must be attached to the completed application:
• The basis for obtaining ikamet - Tapu (real estate title deed), or notarized long-term lease agreement.
Turkish bank account with an amount of $ 600 per month.
• Medical insurance of a Turkish insurance company, valid for 1 year at least. The cost depends on the age of residence permit applicant and is issued to persons from 18 to 65 years old (not required for children). Insurance prices range from 250 to 1,200 TL.
The deadline for obtaining ikamet is about 2-3 months from the application date. You will be notified that ikamet is ready by message. In the next 2 days by registered letter ikamet will be delivered to the nearest post office (PTT).
